Job Purpose:

Product engineering ownership and direct customer technical interaction from initial User Requirements to operation of Simera Sense's products, including hardware and software, using systems thinking principles.

Responsibilities:

• Lead systems engineering activities from concept to delivery for advanced space-based imaging products.
• Gather and translate customer and mission requirements into system architectures, technical specifications, and verification methods.
• Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, baselines, and acceptance criteria throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform system-level analysis, modelling, simulation, integration, testing, and validation activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including optical, mechanical, electronics, and software engineering.
• Support troubleshooting, non-conformance management, engineering changes, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with technical, quality, regulatory, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Communicate technical progress, risks, and solutions to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process optimisation, strategic initiatives, and business development activities using systems engineering best practices and agile principles.

Profil

• Master's degree in computer science or related Engineering fields.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex software projects from concept to deployment.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in earth observation payload/missions and image processing-associated activities.
• A good understanding of processing needs derived from optical remote sensing mission requirements.
• Strong technical expertise in systems engineering supported through Systems Engineering course certifications.
• Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies, such as requirements management, system modelling, and simulation.
• Experience in configuration management and configuration management systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in multiple geographic locations, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Understanding and applying advanced systems engineering methodologies to design, integrate, and manage complex space systems across the complete lifecycle of a system or product, at all levels of the systems hierarchy.
• Proficiency in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques
• Proficiency in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
