This is a great opportunity to join us as an Engineering Supervisor in our Engineering Center (METC) in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. In this role you will lead a team of 6-10 direct reports that will engage in new technology developments for the Advanced Suspension Technologies division of Tenneco. The group specializes in electronically controlled vehicle damping and roll control. Development will mainly follow support for New Technology Introduction (NTI) process but will also support the process of serial implementation into production with our OEM customers. Key Responsibilities: o Manage product development team engaged in process of new technology development, including work assignment, and decision making (prioritization within the team), timely escalation if needed and steering of technical problem solving (engaging with experts outside of the team if needed) o Will typically be engaged in some direct engineering activity ¿ the role is not only one of people management and therefore the candidate must have sufficient technical experience and knowledge o Departmental responsibilities will also include setting and managing towards a budget, driving team engagement (taking care of the team), and providing status reports for different levels of activity. o Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safety of self and others
Profiel
What will make you successful Education/Experience: · Master degree in Mechanical or possibly Industrial Engineering with minimum 6 years progressive engineering experience in automotive (OEM or Tier 1) · Cross-functional experience is a plus · Fluent in English, other languages beneficial (Flemish/Dutch) Good general skills in MS Office Soft Skills: · Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. · Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. · Supervisory responsibilities to be carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: o Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; o Planning, assigning, and directing work; o Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; o Addressing complaints and resolving problems
