For almost 50 years, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel has stood for freedom, equality and connectedness. These values are strongly present on our campuses, in our students as well as our staff. At the VUB, you¿ll find a diverse collection of personalities: pure innovators and especially people who are 100% their authentic selves. With about 3.500 employees, we are the largest Flemish-speaking employer in Brussels, an international city with which we are all too happy to be connected, and around which our four campuses are located.

In 2019, an ambitious project called EUTOPIA was approved by the European Commission. EUTOPIA is made up of a core group of like-minded universities (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CY Cergy Paris Université, University of Gothenburg, University of Ljubljana, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and Univerity of Warwick) for whom change is not simply the output of their alliance, but the driving force that brings them together. In the EUTOPIA-TRAIN project, the EUTOPIA partners will work together to mainstream Open Science practices. VUB will take the lead in this work package and is therefore looking for an EUTOPIA Open Science project leader (M/V/X). In short, your task is to coordinate the Open Science work package as described in the EUTOPIA-TRAIN project. More concretely, you will need to (amongst others): Organize meetings with all EUTOPIA partners; Encourage other stakeholders (e.g., funders) to participate in meetings; Identify gaps and needs regarding Research Data Management (RDM) and Open Science training; Develop online RDM/Open Science courses for researchers and data stewards; Align Open Science policies over the EUTOPIA universities; Set-up an Open Access metadata platform; Design framework policies for research assessment reform to reflect Open Science practices; Implement those new guidelines at VUB; Disseminate and promote the results of the project (policy documents, guidelines, courses¿) widely; Look for additional funding opportunities and provide support in applying for additional funding. You will be embedded in the `Research Information and Data Management¿ team within the R&D department of the VUB, located in Etterbeek. You will work in close collaboration with the different EUTOPIA partners.
