Our client is a major player in the Belgian Food sector, part of a prominent international retail group. They are known for their commitment to quality, sustainability, and ongoing digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• 
  
  Define and implement sourcing strategies for short-, mid-, and long-term horizons
• 
  
  Source, evaluate, and manage a reliable supplier base for fresh food
• 
  
  Lead tenders and contract negotiations to optimize costs and secure supply
• 
  
  Analyze market data and commodity trends to support business decisions
• 
  
  Develop a forward-looking sourcing calendar and build strategic partnerships
• Actively contribute to internal sourcing governance structures
• Manage and lead a team of 2 FTE

Profil

Qualities of a successful candidate

• 
  
  Master's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
• 
  
  3-5 years of relevant sourcing experience in retail or FMCG with people management skills
• 
  
  Experience in buying fresh products is a strong asset (Fish, Meat, Fruit, Vegetables)
• 
  
  Skilled in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and data analysis
• 
  
  Strong commercial instinct and stakeholder communication skills
• 
  
  Organized, efficient, results-oriented, and strategic yet hands-on
• 
  
  Fluent in Dutch and French, with a solid command English
