We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous System Engineer Network & Telecom to join our technology team, consisting of about ten people, in Brussels, Belgium. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding and hands-on experience in network management and telecommunications operations, with a strong focus on maintaining the stability of our network infrastructure. The main responsibilities of this position include network management and telecommunications operations, with experience in other areas of system engineering as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including routers, switches, VLANs, and WiFi access points, to ensure robustness and performance.
• Implement and maintain network monitoring and capacity management processes, automating tasks for better efficiency.
• Provide level 3 support in case of incidents, analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
• Monitor and maintain operational solutions, create and update comprehensive documentation and procedures, and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
• Stay informed about technical advancements in the network domain and play an active role in the introduction and implementation of new technologies.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented security measures, and recommend improvements if necessary.

Profile

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network management in an enterprise environment.
• Proven expertise in various network technologies and protocols, including configuration and management of Cisco products (switches, routers, WiFi access points/WLC, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, VLANs).
• Experience in managing LAN and WAN environments, providing robust and comprehensive network solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of DNS (internal and external) and DHCP technologies for optimal network configurations.
• Proficiency in managing and configuring Cisco VPN protocols (Site-to-Site and AnyConnect) for secure and efficient network communication.
• Mastery of VoIP systems and their integration into the Cisco data network, including experience with Skype for Business, MS-Teams, and the Polycom Vvx and Spider Trio 8800 range of phones.
• Proven experience in integrating multi-cloud network environments (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Private Cloud) for flexible and scalable network solutions.
• Experience in configuring and managing Cisco WiFi access points, ensuring stable and reliable wireless connectivity.
• Proficiency in implementing and integrating Azure network solutions in hybrid environments, connecting on-premise networks with the Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling standards, as well as their implementation for physical connectivity solutions.
• Competence in integrating telephony systems with MS-Teams, including modernizing legacy telephony systems and IVR/cascade to modern MS-Teams based solutions.
• Strong understanding of network security best practices, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation techniques.
