Main objectives:

We are looking for a Business Developer - High-End Systems Microscopy, motivated by optical microscopy, customer relations, and a taste for commercial challenges, to join our Belgian team.

The ideal candidate is passionate, autonomous, rigorous, and enjoys working as part of a team. He/she is fully committed to customer satisfaction. The focus will be on developing and retaining existing customers, as well as generating new prospects by identifying, implementing, and executing new strategies.

 

Key Relationships:

Clients and colleagues, both internal and external, within Nikon teams: Sales and After-Sales Service. You will report to the Belux Sales Manager.

 

The main responsibilities are as follows: 

  • Create and maintain business contacts and medium-term relationships with customers and prospects in the Belux region. Carry out a regular program of visits and prospecting. 
  • Negotiate commercial terms within predefined limits, and take orders. 
  • Work on tenders and prepare technical documentation for tender responses. 
  • Define action plans (short- and medium-term objectives) and monitor KPIs (turnover, profit, opportunities, etc.). 
  • Identify and generate business development opportunities. 
  • Promote sales through presentations and demonstrations of Nikon's advanced imaging microscope systems, including confocal, multiphoton, TIRF, and super-resolution systems. 
  • Train customers on advanced imaging microscope systems and provide continuous application support for customers' microscopy experiments. 
  • Support the Wide-Field Sales Representative in the development, maintenance, and management of Nikon's customer base.

 

Main equipment within the scope (high-end systems):

Confocal, N-SIM, N-STORM, Spinning disk, LIPSI, NIS Software (JOBS, GA3, AI), etc.

Profil

To be successful in this role, the desired profile is as follows: 

  • Master's degree or PhD in biology, chemistry, optics, physics, or a similar field 
  • Good knowledge of high-end microscopy products - advanced imaging, video microscopy, laser applications, confocal and super-resolution microscopy 
  • Understanding of the microscopy market
  • Strong interest in sales, commercial challenges, and customer relations 
  • Ability to define, plan, and work according to priorities and deadlines 
  • Fluent in English, Dutch, and French
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% in Belgium and Luxembourg
  • Holder of a valid driving license

 

You have foundations in image analysis and confocal microscopy, as well as a real ability to build relationships with prospects and customers. Your scientific credibility will allow you to communicate as an equal with prospects and clients, in order to better understand their current and future needs and to promote the company's products.

 

Your commercial mindset and knowledge of confocal systems, combined with your ability to understand the market, will enable you to actively contribute to the company's market share development, both in acquiring new customers and increasing sales to existing customers, demonstrating determination and tenacity.
