As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering seamless employee experience by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
You will provide high-quality service through rigorous, traceable, and compliant management of salaries and benefits, in line with internal policies and employment legislation, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes.Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated group of employees, addressing payroll-related queries and liaising with HR experts when necessary
- Prepare, validate, and reconcile monthly payroll in accordance with statutory deadlines and regulations
- Collaborate closely with the external payroll provider and internal HR departments to ensure smooth operations
- Manage key payroll processes, including salary payments, benefit-related invoicing, and retirement transitions, in coordination with the finance team
- Maintain and update payroll procedures, documentation, and tools to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of payroll optimization initiatives
Profil
- A bachelor's degree, with at least five years of relevant experience in payroll administration
- In-depth knowledge of Belgian payroll legislation
- Familiarity with accounting principles and a willingness to further develop in this area
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex payroll-related issues
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a methodical approach to problem-solving
- A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Dutch or French is essential, along with a good command of the other national language and English
