A DAY IN THE LIFE:
At Tandem Diabetes Care, we're transforming the future of insulin pump therapy - and we're growing fast. The Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist is directly responsible for the promotion and sale of Tandem Diabetes products and clinical services within the assigned territory.
He / She is expected to plan and ensure achievement of sales goals through clinical acceptance of Tandem products' insulin pump therapy.
What your day will look like: Manage an assigned territory to consistently meet or exceed sales targets established by Sales Management. Develop and execute effective strategies to address clinical needs, drive adoption of Tandem Diabetes products and services, and retain existing customer relationships. Serve as a clinical and educational leader within the territory, with a strong focus on Type 1 diabetes management and insulin pump therapy. Identify and develop new business opportunities by building strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and positioning Tandem as a trusted resource within the diabetes community. Leverage available tools and data to generate leads, qualify prospects, and evaluate business opportunities. Create value for providers by clearly differentiating Tandem's technology, services, and clinical advantages, particularly versus legacy pump systems, while effectively communicating Tandem's unique market position and competitive strengths. Plan, coordinate, and deliver product training for patients, customers, and healthcare professionals, including Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and Endocrinologists. Ensure timely completion of all required training, documentation, and communications in compliance with company policies. Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with HCPs to support sales and long-term customer success. Oversee the initial and ongoing certification and recertification of contracted and non-contracted Tandem Pump Trainers within the territory. Deliver patient education programs and classes focused on insulin pump therapy and advanced diabetes management skills to support customer acquisition and retention. Partner closely with the Clinical Manager for technical guidance and collaborate with internal teams-including Sales, Medical Affairs, and Customer Support-to address post-sale issues and additional education needs. Represent Tandem at health fairs, conventions, promotions, and industry events by providing product and service information directly to consumers. Attend all required corporate sales trainings, meetings, trade shows, and symposia. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
Profil
You're Awesome At: Excellent communicator, able to earn trust with both HCPs and patients. Proficient in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes self-management, including: insulin pumps, AID systems, CGMs, infusion sets, carbohydrate counting, and emergency protocols. Familiarity with sales cycle, CRM tools, and digital collaboration platforms (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.). The ability to travel up to 80% within the territory must maintain a valid driver's license and insurance as per company policy. Able to travel to the U.S. or Switzerland for training and internal meetings as required. Fluent in Dutch and English language. Extra Awesome: Medical device consultant or pharmaceutical sales representative Nursing background or Dietitian or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience. Diabetes Care experience is an absolute plus. Continuing education on patient education on the technical use of diabetes technology and special considerations related to pump therapy in the marketplace. Minimum 2 years of experience in medical device sales, diabetes care, endocrinology or a related clinical field. Previous experience engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and supporting complex HCP relationships is highly preferred. Direct knowledge of or experience with Type 1 diabetes patients is a strong advantage. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate as a clinical expert to patients and HCPs.Compétences linguistiques
