Our client is a well-established Belgian group with strong European operations. The company combines entrepreneurial agility with long-term stability and is known for its open culture, structured onboarding, and collaborative working environment.

The legal team works closely with M&A, finance, and executive stakeholders. The position sits at C20 level (just below Director level) and offers real exposure to decision-making processes.

As a Legal Advisor in M&A, your responsibilities are:

• Provide legal support on acquisitions, investments, and corporate finance transactions across Europe
• Manage the full transaction lifecycle: due diligence, drafting & negotiating term sheets and definitive agreements, closing & post-integration follow-up
• Prepare documentation for Executive Committee and Board meetings
• Contribute to strategic group financing and insurance-related investments
• Collaborate closely with the internal M&A team, corporate legal team, and external advisors
• Handle multiple transactions simultaneously with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset

Profil

A successful Legal Advisor in M&A should have:

• Belgian Master's degree in Law
• Minimum 3 years of experience in M&A (law firm or international in-house environment)
• International exposure required
• Fluent in English (majority of contracts), Dutch is strongly preferred (team predominantly French-speaking)
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Analytical, solution-oriented, business-minded
• Autonomous yet collaborative
