Description de la fonction

You lead individual donor retention strategy to maximise donor lifetime value and drive sustainable fundraising growth through data-driven donor journeys, strong donor loyalty, and an outstanding donor experience.

Your role ?

1. Individual Donor Retention Strategy

  • Define and lead the long-term individual donor retention strategy,
  • Own and continuously optimize the donor lifecycle (welcome, engagement, upgrade,loyalty, reactivation).
  • Drive donor retention, lifetime value and sustainable individual giving revenue.
  • Align retention priorities fundraising objectives



2. Donor Experience & Engagement

  • Ensure a consistent, seamless and donor-centric experience across all touchpoints.
  • Lead multi-channel donor stewardship and engagement initiatives.
  • Strengthen donor loyalty, advocacy and long-term commitment through personalized engagement.
  • Coordinate stakeholders involved in the donor journey to ensure consistency and impact.



3. Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Define, monitor and report on retention, engagement and lifetime value KPIs.
  • Translate donor insights into strategic recommendations and improvement actions.
  • Evaluate initiatives and optimize resource allocation based on impact.
  • Foster a data-driven culture of continuous improvement.



4. Data-Driven Donor Journeys

  • Advance the use of donor data to personalize journeys and improve decision-making
  • Partner with ICT and CRM teams to ensure reliable data, segmentation and automation.
  • Optimize donor journey processes through data, testing, and technology.
  • Ensure donor engagement is supported by accurate, actionable and shared data.



5. Mission-led Donor Communications

  • Strengthen the emotional connection between donors and Damien Foundation.
  • Shape donor communications together with Brand & Acquisition to maximize engagement and loyalty.
  • Ensure storytelling and engagement support long-term donor commitment and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Contribute to a coherent donor experience aligned with the organization's positioning.



6. Data Governance & GDPR Compliance

  • Ensure all donor engagement, retention, communication, and data management activities comply with GDPR requirements and internal data protection policies.
  • Safeguard donor privacy, consent management, data accuracy, and the secure use of personal data across all channels and systems

Profil

  • You have a master's degree in marketing, Sales, Economics, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in donor engagement, individual giving, donor retention, CRM-driven marketing, or customer/donor lifecycle management, with a proven ability to design and optimize data-driven journeys that strengthen loyalty, lifetime value, and long-term support.
  • Experience in the non-profit or social impact sector is an asset.
  • You are fluent in French and Dutch, with professional proficiency in the other national language and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a focus on efficient processes, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Strong digital mindset, with the ability to support digital transformation and leverage digital tools to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Opportunity-driven, action-oriented, and results-focused, with strong attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver long-term results.
  • Strong leadership, project management and change management skills.
  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop teams through organizational transformation while fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate donor data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with CRM systems, donor segmentation, and marketing automation.
  • Experience with ERP software is an asset .
  • Excellent writing skills and communication skills
