Are you an experienced OT System Engineer ready to take on a key role supporting critical manufacturing environments across Belgium and Germany?

An international healthcare and life sciences organisation is strengthening its IT/OT Operations team and is looking for an experienced OT System Engineer to support critical technology environments across manufacturing and warehouse operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining and developing the infrastructure that enables automation, engineering and operational activities.

 

The position combines networking, Windows/Wintel platforms, virtualisation and on-premise infrastructure within regulated Operational Technology (OT) environments.

The role covers sites in Belgium (Haasrode and Genk)

 

This is a hands-on opportunity for an infrastructure professional who enjoys working in complex environments, solving technical challenges and collaborating with IT, engineering, automation teams and external partners.

RoleIT/OT Infrastructure

• Manage and support on-premise OT infrastructure, including servers, virtualisation and storage.
• Ensure availability, security and compliance of systems supporting manufacturing and operations.
• Perform installation, configuration and lifecycle management of infrastructure components.
• Support patching, backup, monitoring and incident resolution.

Networking

• Manage and troubleshoot industrial network environments.
• Support switches, firewalls and network segmentation between IT and OT zones.
• Maintain secure communication between IT and OT environments.
• Implement and support network security controls.

Windows & Core Infrastructure

• Manage Windows Server/Wintel environments.
• Administer on-premise Active Directory.
• Support Entra ID integration within a hybrid identity environment.
• Maintain DNS, DHCP and NTP services.
• Ensure stable and secure domain-joined OT environments.

Projects & Deployments

• Contribute to the design and implementation of OT infrastructure solutions.
• Deploy infrastructure for new production lines, warehouse systems and engineering platforms.
• Work with technology vendors and system integrators.
• Support infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and operational handover.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure infrastructure aligns with GxP and regulated manufacturing requirements.
• Follow IT governance processes covering change management, patching and documentation.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives, including network segmentation and monitoring.
• Contribute to validation, documentation and audit-readiness activities.

Collaboration

• Act as a bridge between IT infrastructure, automation, engineering and external partners.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Work with stakeholders to improve system reliability and operational performance.
• Build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams.

Profil

Profile

We are looking for an experienced OT or infrastructure engineer with a hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.

Strong experience with:

• Windows Server / Wintel environments
• On-premise Active Directory
• DNS, DHCP and NTP

Good knowledge of:

• Networking, switching, firewalls and network segmentation
• Virtualisation platforms such as VMware or similar technologies

Nice to have:

• Entra ID and hybrid identity environments
• Backup, monitoring and patching solutions
• SCADA, PLC and industrial automation environments
• Manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments
• GxP and validated systems
• IT/OT separation principles
• Purdue Model concepts

• Experience working in complex operational or production environments

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel regularly to Germany as part of the role
