Context :


A large Belgian organization operating a complex multi-site IT environment is looking for a Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen its Infrastructure team.
 
 
Description :


As a Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Your primary focus will be on systems, servers, virtualization, and core infrastructure services while also contributing to the reliability of the overall infrastructure, including networking components.
Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and administering Windows and Linux server environments.
• Maintaining virtualization platforms and core infrastructure services.
• Administering endpoint infrastructure, including Windows workstations and peripheral devices.
• Monitoring system availability, performance, and capacity, and implementing optimization initiatives.
• Providing third-level technical support to the Service Desk and assisting with complex infrastructure incidents.
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Participating in the evolution of the IT infrastructure by proposing and implementing technical improvements.
• Contributing to an on-call rotation to ensure infrastructure availability outside business hours.
• Supporting existing applications and automation scripts when required.

 
Your profile :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar infrastructure engineering role, demonstrating continuous technical growth and increasing responsibilities.
• Valid driving licence (Category B).

Technical Scope : 
 

• Strong administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022.
• Solid knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Experience managing Windows 11 endpoint environments and associated hardware.
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts.
• Knowledge of relational database systems, including PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with VMware ESXi virtualization.
• Basic software development knowledge, including scripting and automation.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain production infrastructure.
