SQL server DBA (with Oracle knowledge)

About the role

Our client, a major player in the financial sector, is looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator with solid knowledge of Oracle DBA to join their infrastructure team.
This is a hands-on operational role, replacing a departing consultant, where you'll ensure the stability, performance, and evolution of critical database environments.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of SQL Server environments
  
• Manage database upgrades
  
• Participate in decommissioning projects and migrations
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance or availability issues (“firefighter” mindset)
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure database reliability and security
  
• Provide documentation and best practices for database management
  

Profile

• Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA in complex production environments
  
• Good knowledge of Oracle DBA concepts and administration
  
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills
  
• Experience with version upgrades and database lifecycle management
  
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  
• English fluency required; French and/or Dutch Mandatory
