Do you enjoy hands-on lab work and transforming technical challenges into real-world solutions? Are you ready to play a crucial role in advancing Li-ion battery technologies? 

As a motivated and technically skilled Battery Application Engineer you will support the development and application of advanced battery materials. In this role you'll take ownership of the full process, from slurry formulation and electrode preparation to cell testing and performance analysis. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and partners to generate technical insights and drive innovation in battery technology.

Your key responsibilities:

• Prepare water-based slurries and fabricate Li-ion battery electrodes using the company's materials.
• Design and execute experiments for electrochemical evaluation of battery cells 
• Independently assemble and test battery cells, analyse performance data, and interpret results.
• Document and standardize lab procedures to ensure reproducibility and quality.
• Generate technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, customers, and partners.
• Manage Laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory of consumables.
• Provide technical support to customers and partners, including material introduction, data explanation, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and technology transfer.

Jouw profiel

• Master's degree or PhD in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines or Bachelor's degree with experience in a similar job.
• Min. 6 months of hands-on experience in Li-ion battery electrode preparation and cell evaluation.
• General knowledge of Li-ion batteries, electrochemical testing methods and analytical techniques (such as gas chromatography).
• Proficiency in MS Office (incl. PowerPoint).
• Fluent in English (knowledge of Japanese is a plus).
• Strong ability to document technical work and communicate effectively with multicultural teams.
• You can work independently, are eager to learn and bring on improvement.
