Job opening: Project Manager / product owner - Embedded solutions

We are looking for a Project Manager / Product Owner to support one of our Embedded software solutions. Our organization works in a matrix structure, where experts from different competence teams temporarily join the project team to contribute to specific releases.

Main responsibilities

• Strategy & planning
  • Align with business stakeholders to synchronize product roadmaps and define realistic release plans.
  • Translate business requirements into clear project objectives and priorities.
  • Ensure scope, planning, budget, resources, and risks are well managed.
• Team alignment & delivery
  • Bring the development teams together to agree on:
  • A realistic and achievable scope for each release
  • The way of working (methodology, iterative vs. agile, sprint planning, cybersecurity requirements, DevOps, automation, testing, documentation expectations)
  • Ensure clear backlog prioritization, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions (if acting in a combined PO role)
• Coordination & communication
  • Organize regular project meetings with all relevant stakeholders
  • Provide transparent reporting on progress, risks, blockers, actions, and challenges to management
  • Conduct regular check-INS with team members to understand their input, concerns, and feedback
• Continuous improvement
  • Identify bottlenecks and problems early
  • Propose and implement process improvements along the way
  • Foster a constructive, ambitious, and collaborative project atmosphere
  • Help integrate DevOps and test automation practices consistently into the project workflow (important for Embedded projects)

Requirements

Professional skills

• Experience in project management and/or product ownership, ideally in Embedded or Hardware-software environments
• Familiarity with agile and iterative methodologies
• Basic understanding of lifecycle management, quality gates, cybersecurity, and testing processes is a plus
• Languages: fluent in Dutch and English
• Onsite presence: 40% of working hours at our Airpower site in Antwerp
