Job Opportunity: Linux System Engineer 

Our client, a prominent player in the Transportation and Logistics industry, is seeking a skilled Linux System Engineer to join their robust Information Technology team. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic, supportive environment. 

Role & Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and maintain Linux servers and related infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment and monitoring systems.
• Manage security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Regularly perform systems and software audits, responding to system-generated alerts to assess, prioritize, and manage system events.
• Conduct system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system software performance, availability, and reliability.

Key Skills:

• Proven expertise in managing Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
• Knowledge of systems security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
• Ability to work within a team and independently.
• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills.

Jouw profiel

Do you have what it takes?

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
• Proven experience in large enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Strong knowledge of Ansible automation.
• Knowledge of various open source services (such as, but not limited to: Bind, Elasticsearch, JBoss, Kafka, Pacemaker, Podman, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Tomcat, Zabbix).
• Strong GDPR and IT security awareness.
• Independent, stress resistant and analytical.
• Good communication and planning skills.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Willing to join on-call duty for incident resolution outside office hours (on average 1 week per month).
