Your Role as AP Manager | Accounts Payable Manager | Leuven

For the headquarters of a global market leader in medical products based in Leuven, we are looking for an experienced AP Manager ready to take on a key role within a Global Business Services (GBS) structure.

From Belgium, an essential European hub, you will lead an international team operating across Belgium, the UK, and India. You will act as the driving force behind building a high-performing, future-proof Accounts Payable organization.

As AP Manager, you will operate across borders and time zones, collaborating with stakeholders worldwide. Your mission: ensure processes are not only efficient today, but fully prepared for tomorrow.

Your Responsibilities

Day-to-Day AP Operations

• Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding AP
• Coordinate invoice scanning, posting, and workflow management across multiple regions
• Manage payments in SAP S/4HANA (both manual and automated)
• Ensure accurate postings, timely processing, and full compliance (VAT, Intrastat, group policies)
• Perform monthly controls (manual payments, unpaid invoices, exception reporting)
• Support tax declarations and financial closings (accruals, reconciliations, open POs)

People Management & Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop international AP teams
• Foster structure, stability, and a positive team dynamic
• Demonstrate visible, hands-on leadership-close to your team, not from a distance

Projects & Optimization

• Design and implement process improvements and automation initiatives
• Actively contribute ideas around AI applications within finance
• Collaborate across cultures and departments on a global scale

Jouw profiel

Your Profile

• Proven experience in Accounts Payable, combined with people management experience
• Solid understanding of VAT in an international context
• Hands-on mindset: you step in where needed
• Interest in AI and digitalization is a strong asset
• Proactive, autonomous, and able to bring clarity in complex environments
• Fluent in English (mandatory); Dutch is a plus
• Willingness to travel internationally a few times per year
