The role of Head of Investment Management is an opportunity to join a dynamic portfolio management environment in Brussels, focused on the long-term management of pension fund and insurance assets. This position offers exposure to a broad range of asset classes, strategic investment decisions, and close interaction with senior stakeholders in a highly regulated institutional setting.
The Head of Investment Management will play a key role in shaping investment strategy, optimizing portfolios, and contributing to high-level financial decision-making within a collaborative and expert-driven environment.

Your responsibilities as Head of Investment Management: You are responsible for leading a 4-person team, ensuring the delivery of departmental outputs, actively driving initiatives and proposals, and representing the company in joint investment committees, Boards of Directors, and other governance bodies You report directly to the CFO and independently manage investment files across multiple areas of expertise You develop strong expertise in one or more asset classes and quickly identify key drivers of new investment opportunities You analyse portfolio composition and performance, and propose optimization or diversification strategies where relevant You integrate regulatory, accounting, and tax considerations into investment decisions when required You prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for investment committees and boards You negotiate fee structures with financial institutions to improve cost efficiency You support the CFO in representing investment matters to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and governance bodies You foster collaboration across teams and contribute to cross-functional initiatives You build strong partnerships with internal teams to ensure aligned investment execution You also support the CFO on ad hoc topics related to accounting, budgeting, and business model analysis of managed entities

Jouw profiel

About the candidate: You hold a university degree in economics, finance, or engineering, with CFA or CAIA considered a strong asset You bring at least 8 years of experience in portfolio management or financial analysis within institutional environments You have solid expertise in fund selection, portfolio construction, and regulatory/tax frameworks; ALM experience is an advantage You adopt a long-term investment perspective and demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative thinking You have experience in insurance, asset management, or institutional investing environments You communicate fluently in French or Dutch, with strong command of the other national language, and are comfortable in English You are able to present financial topics clearly to different audiences, both written and orally You are proficient with Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, and open to learning new tools and systems You combine autonomy and hands-on execution with strong teamwork skills and a pragmatic, well-structured approach. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously and handle negotiations with confidence and assertiveness You operate with a strong ethical mindset and respect governance standards
