Beschrijving van het bedrijf
For product professionals who want ownership, substance, and real proximity to delivery.
At Craft it, we build software products for regulated financial institutions operating in demanding credit risk environments. Our products help teams structure decision workflows, strengthen model governance and implementation quality, and deliver robust, auditable outcomes in practice.
We are looking for a Product Owner (m/v/x) who can turn product ambition into clear priorities, coherent scope, and disciplined execution.
This role sits at the intersection of product thinking, client reality, and delivery. You will own the translation from market and user needs into roadmap, backlog, and sprint-ready work. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, sales, and client-facing colleagues to ensure we build the right product, in the right order, with the right level of quality.
This is an individual contributor role with strong ownership. You will not be expected to manage people directly, but you will be expected to drive product decisions, shape priorities, and raise the standard of how product work is done.
Beschrijving van de functie
What you will do
As a Product Owner, you will take responsibility for one of Craft IT's software products serving regulated credit risk clients.
You will
- own and continuously refine product vision, objectives, and roadmap.
- maintain a clear, prioritized, and actionable backlog.
- translate product opportunities and client needs into well-scoped user stories and consistent acceptance criteria.
- define MVPs and increments that deliver meaningful value without losing sight of the longer-term trajectory.
- lead product discovery through client conversations, user feedback, workshops, and structured hypothesis testing.
- prepare sprint scope with engineering, balancing value, effort, risk, and delivery constraints.
- accept or reject delivered increments against agreed acceptance criteria.
- work with sales and client-facing teams on demonstrations, positioning, and product feedback loops.
- contribute to product metrics, OKRs, and decision-making grounded in evidence rather than intuition alone.
- help ensure that roadmap decisions reflect both commercial opportunity and operational reality.
This is not a coordination-only role. You will be expected to make decisions, reduce ambiguity, and bring structure where others would leave open questions.
Jouw profiel
You are likely a strong fit if you
- have 5+ years of experience in product roles such as Product Owner or Product Manager for a software product, or have hands-on experience in software development (e.g., as a software engineer), and can leverage that experience in product decision-making and collaboration with engineering teams
- know how to manage backlog, prioritization, scope, and acceptance criteria with rigor
- can work effectively with engineers and architects, including on trade-offs, constraints, and sequencing
- are comfortable speaking with clients, users, and commercial stakeholders
- know how to turn ambiguous inputs into clear product decisions and executable work
- are data-informed and able to build structured feedback loops around product usage and stakeholder input
- communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally
- are proactive, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership without waiting to be heavily directed
- speak English fluently - French is a strong plus but not strictly required
You would stand out with experience in one or more of the following
- B2B SaaS or enterprise software products
- banking, credit risk, model risk, or other regulated financial environments
- product work in complex implementation contexts
- launching or reshaping a product from MVP toward a commercial, sellable offer
- supporting product demonstrations, go-to-market discussions, or pre-sales conversations
- working in environments where auditability, reliability, and delivery discipline matter
What success looks like
In the first three months, you should be able to:
- clarify product vision, objectives, and a credible 6 to 12 month roadmap
- establish a backlog that is prioritized, well-structured, and ready for delivery
- define the next meaningful MVP or release scope with consistent acceptance criteria
- put in place a reliable loop for collecting and integrating user and client feedback
Over time, exceptional performance in this role means:
- product decisions are visibly grounded in evidence, not guesswork
- sprint scope is clear and delivery is predictable, with low ambiguity for the team
- releases create real traction with users, clients, and prospects
- stakeholders trust the product direction because it is coherent, well-argued, and consistently executed
