For our client in the financial sector, we are currently looking for an experienced Tribe Test Engineer to join a dynamic Agile environment in Brussels.

You will play a key role in defining testing strategies, standardizing testing practices, driving automation initiatives, and embedding quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This role is possible as freelancer or employee!

Jouw profiel

Your role:

As a Tribe Test Engineer, you will act as the owner of testing initiatives within Agile teams. You will help establish and maintain scalable, modern, and automated testing practices across squads while continuously improving quality standards and feedback loops.

Your profile:

. You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Test Engineer within Agile environments
. You have practical experience working in Scrum teams
. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience

Mandatory technical skills:
. Strong practical work experience with:

• Test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright
• BDD/TDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Octane
• API testing tools such as Postman, Bruno, RestAssured, and Karate
• CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Version control systems such as Git
  . Excellent knowledge of Java in a test engineering context
  . Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and shift-left testing principles
  . Interest in leveraging AI technologies to improve software testing processes
  . Willingness to learn and expand into additional programming languages

Nice-to-have skills:
. Experience with Docker and containerization technologies
. Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
. Knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
. Experience within financial, banking, or payment environments

Soft skills:
. Excellent collaboration and communication skills
. Adaptable and comfortable in fast-paced Agile environments
. Passion for continuous learning and emerging testing trends
. Proactive mindset with a strong focus on knowledge sharing and process improvement
. Team-oriented attitude with a focus on collective success rather than individual achievement

Languages:
. Excellent knowledge of English is required
. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered a plus

Practical information:
. Start date: as soon as possible
. Mission until: March 31st, 2027
. Location: Brussels (1000)
. Hybrid work model: 50% remote work
. Engagement possible as freelancer or employee
