Company Overview
Kuehne+Nagel is a leading global logistics provider, known for its innovative supply chain solutions and strong customer focus. For our Road Logistics division in Belgium, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Team Leader Dispatching to oversee and coordinate the daily activities of our dispatch team. This role involves managing operations for both full truckloads (FTL) and part loads (LTL), while supporting our dedicated groupage department and cross-dock activities, which form a crucial part of our transport network.

Position Summary
As a Team Leader, you oversee and guide a team of Dispatchers who specialize in chartering LTL and FTL shipments within our Road Logistics department in Kampenhout. You are responsible for coordinating and monitoring daily transport activities, ensuring that all shipments are dispatched efficiently, cost effectively, and in full compliance with Belgian transport regulations. Leveraging your operational expertise and strong communication skills, you support your team in working effectively with planners, drivers, subcontractors, and customer service teams. Together, you ensure smooth execution of all transport movements, selecting the most suitable subcontractors based on quality, performance, and price, while fostering continuous operational improvement within the team.

Your responsibilities

• You are the direct manager of a team of 8 to 12 transport planners. This includes target setting and follow-up, yearly evaluations and disciplinary actions if applicable. You make sure that work is divided evenly within the team and look for the "right person"on the "right job".
• You are the first point of contact for escalations within your team. You act as a coach and a knowledge expert and provide support to your employees in case of questions.
• You supervise the daily operational scheduling and actively identify new opportunities within your team to improve services or reduce costs.
• You Identify Trends through preset KPI's and act where needed.
• You are responsible for optimizing operational and administrative processes for more efficiency and actively propose improvement projects.

Jouw profiel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain or equivalent by experience
• Proven experience in Logistics, preferably road freight & planning
• Experience in managing a team
• Hand on Mentality & flexible mindset.
• IT Savvy, ability to work in different IT systems and programs.
• Knowledge of Dutch, English and French. Any other language is an asset.
