Freelance Business Analyst - IT Digitalisation M/V/X

Our client is a large Belgian organization that plays a key role within an extensive and technically complex infrastructure environment. Behind the scenes, business-critical IT systems ensure that operational processes can run safely, reliably and efficiently.
As part of a broad IT digitalization program, significant investments will be made over the coming years in renewing and optimizing processes, applications and digital services. To support this transformation, they are looking for an experienced Business Analyst who can immerse themselves in the business and help determine where and how digitalization can genuinely create value.
This is a long-term project within a stable enterprise environment, with contracts that can be renewed annually.

Beschrijving van de functie

As a Business Analyst, you start from the business and its processes rather than from a predefined IT solution. You engage with various stakeholders, identify their challenges and needs, and seek to understand how processes actually work today.
You analyze the current way of working, identify bottlenecks and opportunities, and work together with the business to define a clear as-is and to-be situation. You ask critical questions, align different interests and help determine which changes can deliver the greatest added value.
You then translate these insights into clear business requirements, processes, objectives and solution directions. Throughout this process, you maintain a view of the bigger picture and ensure that proposed solutions align with operational reality and the broader digitalization strategy.
You work closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects, Functional Analysts and development teams. While the more functional or technical profiles focus in greater detail on the concrete software implementation, you remain primarily responsible for the business context, process logic, scope and stakeholder alignment.
Throughout the project, you remain involved in validation and decision-making, ensuring that the final solution genuinely addresses the original business problem.

Jouw profiel

• 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role. More experience is certainly welcome
• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• You have strong communication skills and can interact comfortably with operational employees, management and IT professionals
• You communicate professionally in English and understand Dutch and/or French
