Your role:
The Transport Officer is responsible for the daily monitoring and coordination of transport shipments within Europe and to/from non-EU countries. The role ensures that transportation activities are carried out on time, efficiently, and in accordance with established requirements and service levels. The Transport Officer serves as a key link and point of contact between internal teams, freight forwarders/carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners.

Your responsibilities:
Follow-up and monitoring

• Follow up on EU and non-EU transport shipments from booking through to delivery.
• Monitor transport statuses, transit times, and scheduled deliveries.
• Proactively follow up on delays, deviations, and other operational issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport administration and reporting.

Carrier / Freight Forwarder Management

• Request and follow up on transport bookings; evaluate and approve transport movements in accordance with specified service requirements.
• In consultation with the manager, select and assign carriers for specific transport routes and freight flows.
• Identify, monitor, coordinate, and escalate structural issues involving transport partners.

KPI and Performance Management

• Monitor and report on carrier performance and identify trends.
• Discuss performance issues with partners, propose improvement actions, and follow up on their implementation.
• Coordinate actions with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of transport performance.

Jouw profiel

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree level or equivalent through relevant experience.
• Proficiency in standard software applications (MS Office).
• Good knowledge of transport processes, freight forwarding, and the logistics industry.
• Understanding of performance management and strong analytical skills.
• Works in a structured and accurate manner, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Able to anticipate potential issues and correctly assess their possible impact.
• Capable of analysing problems quickly and accurately and proposing practical solutions.
• You speak French or Dutch, you also have a good knowledge of technical English.
