Thirty countries. Sixty legal entities. A BPO partner in India. Monthly closes under pressure and an ERP migration running straight through live operations. You've been there, and you know exactly how to bring structure, calm and quality to an environment that never stops moving.
We're looking for an AP Manager to lead the European AP hub of an international market leader in medical products, based in Leuven. This is a Global Business Services environment with teams spanning Belgium, the UK and India, an active finance transformation programme and products that make a genuine difference in healthcare every single day.
The Role
As AP Manager, you hold full ownership of the Accounts Payable function and serve as the key link between finance and international business stakeholders. From the European hub in Leuven, you oversee AP operations across Belgium, the United Kingdom and India, working closely with teams distributed around the world.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Full AP cycle for European countries: receipt, review, processing and approval of invoices in line with group policy
- Three-way matching, discrepancy follow-up and escalation where required
- Preparation and execution of payment runs across multiple methods (EFT, Wire, ACH, DD, SEPA B2B/B2C)
- Vendor reconciliations, AP subledger alignment with the GL and management of intercompany balances
- Monthly and year-end close activities: accruals, prepayments, open POs and AP adjustments
- Compliance oversight: VAT, Intrastat, SOX requirements, internal controls and segregation of duties
- Building and monitoring KPIs and AP reporting: ageing, vendor spend, payment forecasts and accrual summaries
- Supporting audit processes: providing documentation, explaining reconciliations and implementing recommendations
People Management & Leadership
- Managing, coaching and developing international AP teams and BPO partners
- Monitoring SLA quality and operational consistency across outsourced processes
- Providing technical guidance on the ERP system to BPO teams, acting as the go-to for complex processing and system queries
- Visible, engaged leadership: present for your people across time zones and national borders
Jouw profiel
Your Profile
You're a senior finance professional who knows complex AP environments inside out. You keep your team in sight and know how to introduce structure and composure into an organisation that's constantly evolving.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a financial discipline
- A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in AP and GL, ideally across multiple countries and legal entities
- Proven leadership experience, both direct and through BPO coordination and process ownership
- Hands-on knowledge of major ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud Financials or SAP S/4HANA
- Familiar with US GAAP and/or IFRS and financial close across multiple entities
- Strong knowledge of VAT in an international context, SOX and internal controls
- Demonstrable experience with finance transformation or ERP implementation projects is a significant advantage
- Analytical, solutions-focused and comfortable in a high-complexity, fast-changing environment
- Fluent in English (essential); French or Dutch is an advantage
- Willing to travel internationally: regular trips to the UK, occasional travel to Asia
