afarax is looking for a freelance Technical Designer / Senior Java Developer. We need you!
 
The project:
Our client in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced Technical Designer / Senior Java Developer to strengthen their team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the technical architecture of a defined application domain, ensuring continuity, stability and scalability of the IT landscape.
• Draft, refine and maintain technical analyses and solution designs for large and complex IT systems based on functional requirements.
• Analyse, understand and challenge functional requirements in order to design appropriate, robust and high-performing technical solutions.
• Ensure alignment of technical solutions with architecture standards, strategic guidelines and existing application frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with architects, functional analysts, developers and other technical and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical support, guidance and consultancy to development teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Design and develop backend applications and services using Java technologies.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs / OpenAPI services, particularly for orchestration applications connecting front-end solutions with multiple backend systems.
• Work within Azure cloud environments, with Azure DevOps and Azure Kubernetes Service/Engine experience considered an advantage.
• Quickly understand and work within existing JVM environments and internally developed frameworks.
• Define, elaborate and execute test designs.
• Follow up on testing and bug-fixing processes to ensure high-quality application delivery.
• Apply the required project methodology throughout technical analysis, development, testing and implementation.
• Work autonomously and proactively engage all necessary stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure delivery within agreed scope, budget, quality and timelines.
• Provide technical coaching and knowledge sharing to developers and other team members.

 
Is this you?
Required Technical Expertise:

• 6+ years of Java development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11
• Strong experience with Spring
• Strong experience with Spring Boot
• Strong experience with Spring Cloud
• Strong experience with Spring Data
• Strong experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs / OpenAPI
• Strong understanding of backend application architecture and integration
• Experience with JavaScript
• Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL
• Experience with Git, Maven, JUnit and Mockito
• Knowledge of IBM WebSphere, Eclipse and Dimensions
• Ability to work with existing JVM environments and custom frameworks
• Experience with technical analysis, solution design, testing and bug fixing

 
Nice to Have:

• Experience developing Java applications in Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Cloud-native application development and deployment experience
